Why Scuba Diving is so cheap in Malvan?

Nestled in Maharashtra’s Sindhudurg district, located at a distance of 2 hours from Goa. It is a perfect location for scuba diving with extremely rich marine life. However, to the surprise of many, the cost of scuba diving in Malvan is extremely affordable.

It would not be incorrect to say that the prices offered are quite cheap. It is often said that the prices are low owing to the location being a little away from the major Goan spots. Also, the divers at Malvan do not follow the traditional old ways of carrying cylinders underwater.

Does that mean scuba is not quality here?

NO! The cost of the dive being quite cheap as compared to other places doesn’t mean that the quality is not up to the mark. The marine underwater life and corals are extremely rich at Malvan. The prices are low as compared to the various other places. However, some of the reasons as to why the place offers cheap prices for scuba diving include the following:-

  • All the professional divers that train travelers for the dive and accompany them for the diving session are not PADDI certified and hence he low cost of diving.
  • Not being PADDI certified diving coaches, they do not follow the traditional ways of diving. They do not have the divers carry oxygen cylinders on the back underwater. Instead, they have compressors or cylinders kept on the boats and there are air pipes and valves via which the divers breathe in oxygen. The depth of diving depends on the length of these pipes.
